National
Park of Muang Singha History located at Kwae Noi River, 43 kilometers
from Kanchanaburi, 129 kilometers away from Bangkok. The park's area is
about 641 Rai and can be whole day visit. The attraction is Ancient remains
number 1 and 2. This ancient remains constructed of Castle laterite (Muang
Singha Castle or Prasat Muang Singha), ancient arts with balcony and arched
entrance inside, at the end of Lopburi period, surrounded with ridged
levels, influenced by Bar Yon Arts. At center of Castle (ancient number
1), Bodhisattava Buddha (Avalokitesvara) and Pratyaparumita were discovered.Muang
Singha Castle was made of 200 Rai the laterite. The Avalokitesvara image
displays at the center of Muang Singha Castle is not an original image.
In
addition, inside the Park, there is antique exhibition building which
gathered of various arts, statue, potery and utensils discovered nearby
the Castle. The original Avalokitesvara image is also displayed here.
This photo is Stone Radiating Avalokitesvara, found at Prasat Muang
Singha. The Hindu God was in Khmer Bayon style. Dressed in Bayon style
and adorned on torso and arms with many tiny images, this originally
eight armed figure represents the All Compassionate One, Bodhisattva
Avalokitesvara, who looks down upon the earth with mercy for all mankind.
Indicative of Avalokitesvara is the seated Buddha Amitabha in the headdress.
